SEISMOGRAPHIC RECORDING | ARCHITECTURAL STRUCTURE | LAYERED SPACE
Since 2007, I have been developing a drawing technique that I call “Seismographic Recording.” In this process, signals originating from the body or the environment are first registered by the brain and transmitted to the arm, hand, and pencil, before being transferred onto paper. Like a seismograph, I transform my body into a recording device that translates inner impulses into visible traces.
Through years of engaging with „Seismographic Recording,“ the question of the „Spatial“ (Spaces) has increasingly arisen. I am currently exploring.

Based on the seismographic recordings (from the body), I have begun building three-dimensional models as Architectural Structures. I am interested in whether I can develop new geometric and static forms from these structures, which emerge from the recordings and which I shape into three-dimensional forms. I want to build these models on a large scale, as walk-in architectural sculptures. For this, I am in dialogue with architects and engineers. So far, we have not yet found the technical solutions to build these sculptures.
In parallel, in 2021, I began working with watercolor. I developed a technique in which I layer geometric shapes using transparent washes of color, so that through these overlaps, spaces emerge. This process belongs to a similar conceptual universe as the recordings: a spatial effect arises through the overlapping of lines, while in the watercolors, the overlap of geometric shapes creates a spatial depth.
To further expand the spatiality, I overlay these with a cutout (ink on transparent paper). This creates a 3D space and a shadow effect that changes depending on the lighting conditions. I call these works „Layered Spaces.“
Additionally, drawings and cutouts are created that deal, in a broader sense, with micro- and macro-“Space.“
